Developed by IFB, madbot is a tool designed to assist researchers in managing, describing and sharing their scientific data. With the continuous increase in the volume of research data, it is becoming increasingly complex to guarantee its accessibility, reusability and comprehension in the long term.

Madbot addresses these challenges by offering an automated, standardised and flexible solution that complies with international metadata standards. It enables data to be structured and described in a consistent manner, while saving considerable time at this stage.

Madbot also helps to ensure that data is described correctly and consistently, in line with established standards. This facilitates their retrieval and subsequent use. The tool connects to various international platforms such as Zenodo and ENA (European Nucleotide Archive), enabling researchers to submit their data directly to these repositories with ease. madbot’s intuitive interface enables users to interact with the system even without technical expertise. Behind the scenes, the tool ensures optimal organization, automatically checks for errors and helps researchers create accurate, high-quality metadata. madbot’s architecture is designed to be easily extensible, enabling integration with a variety of data storage solutions, data warehouses and metadata standards. This flexibility enables researchers to adapt the tool to their specific needs, guaranteeing seamless interoperability with different research infrastructures. By simplifying the process of submitting research data, madbot encourages researchers to embrace the principles of open science, making their work more accessible. Ultimately, madbot helps reduce the barriers to sharing research data, and makes it easier for scientists to contribute to the international scientific community.
