Generative artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly integrated into scientific programming practices, particularly in bioanalysis and bioinformatics. Against this backdrop, the MERIT network, the French Institute of Bioinformatics (IFB) and the iPOP-UP platform at Paris Cité University are organising a new edition of the AI conference on Friday 12 June in Paris. This exploratory session will focus on the use of generative AI (ChatGPT, Copilot, Devin, etc.) to support software development and data analysis, with a particular focus on biology.

Programme
The morning will be devoted to presentations and a panel discussion with developers, researchers, teachers and trainers, focusing on practical feedback regarding the use of generative AI.
The afternoon (optional) will feature hands-on workshops in R or Python, to collectively test their suitability for various scientific applications (data loading, parsing, analysis, visualisation, etc.).
